Invitation for Bids – 2024 Prairie Hay
June 20nd, 2024 – Request for Bids on Standing Prairie Hay
Sealed bids will be received by the Little Blue Natural Resources District (District), 100 East Street, P.O. Box 100, Davenport, NE 68335 no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 5th, 2024 for the privilege of cutting, baling, and removing prairie hay on the following District owned properties:
- Liberty Cove Recreation Area located west of Lawrence, NE.; 95 acres.
- Bruning Dam Recreation Area located northeast of Bruning, NE; 30 acres.
- Roseland Lake Recreation Area located north of Roseland, NE; 24 acres.
- Prairie Lake Recreation Area located south of Juniata; 17 acres.
- Lone Star Recreation Area located east of Ohiowa; 11 acres.
Maps showing hay harvest areas are enclosed for your information. Bidders are encouraged and responsible for inspecting hay areas prior to submission of bids to determine hay quality and value.
REQUIREMENTS FOR BIDDING AND HARVEST
- Bids must be in writing on the bidding form provided by the District.
- Bidding will be done on a $ per acre per property basis. Bidders may bid on one, a combination of several or all properties as desired.
- A bid deposit in the amount of 20% of the grand total bid amount must accompany the bid. The deposit of unsuccessful bidders will be returned.
- Bids must be in a sealed envelope marked “2024 Prairie Hay Bid“.
- Bid form and 20% bid deposit must be received by 4:00 p.m. on July 5th, 2024.
- The successful bidder may start his/her haying operation only after July 10th, 2024 and only after submitting the balance of the remaining bid amount due to the District.
- All hay must be removed from District property by August 12th, 2024 or it shall become the property of the District.
- The District reserves the right to waive any informality and to accept or reject any or all bids.
