NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Little Blue Natural Resources District (LBNRD) will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 14th at 6:30 p.m., immediately preceding the Public Hearing II, in the LBNRD boardroom, located at 100 East 6th Street, Davenport, NE. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on proposed amendments to the LBNRD’s “Park Regulations”. A summary of the proposed amendments follows:
- 07G adding “at your own risk”.
- 10E1 adding hunting “two hundred 200 yards” from public use areas
- 01E adding “The Use of rifles in this area is prohibited”
- 01F adding furbearer trapping is only allowed by special permit
- 02E adding “Waterfowl hunting is prohibited” for Liberty Cove
- 02D adding “All hunting is prohibited…” for Prairie Lake
- 01F adding no hunting within 200 yard of public use area and prohibiting rifles
- 01G adding furbearer trapping is only allowed by special permit
- 01H adding horseback riding is allowed, but riders should be aware of hunting seasons

Persons wishing to provide testimony regarding these proposed changes may submit written comments in lieu of live testimony. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment on proposed amendments to the LBNRD’s “Groundwater Management Rules and Regulations”. A summary of the proposed amendments follows:
- Clarification on Allocation Amounts when Acres are Added.
- Adding “private” to set-aside programs, allowing the retention of irrigated history.
- Removing the requirement to irrigate one time within three years to retain irrigated acres.
- Amending the carryover amount for Allocation Periods.
- A complete re-write of the “Enforcement of Rules” chapter to make them more legally sound.
